Charleston Yeager Airport (CRW) is approximately 50 miles east in the state capital, served by American and Delta from hub markets, and provides more comprehensive national connectivity for families whose home markets connect through Charlotte or Atlanta.
For families driving, US-60 runs along the Ohio River corridor through Huntington. I-64 connects east to Charleston (50 miles) and west into Kentucky toward Lexington (120 miles). Marshall University refunds tuition on a declining schedule after the semester starts, so timing a withdrawal matters.
Only a complete withdrawal from all classes qualifies for a refund, not a single dropped class after the schedule-adjustment period. Federal aid recipients must have their account reviewed and approved by Financial Assistance before any refund is issued, so aid can be clawed back even before the tuition schedule applies.
