A Note on Seahawks Identity and Financial Aid
UNCW’s athletic teams are the Seahawks, competing in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) at the Division I level. The colors are teal, navy, and gold. The Seahawks compete in basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, track and field, tennis, golf, swimming and diving, and other CAA sports.
The basketball program has been the most nationally visible CAA program at UNCW, with NCAA tournament appearances and the CAA’s competitive mid-major conference schedule. ILM’s connections provide reasonable access for most UNCW families in the Carolinas and the broader Southeast.
Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) is approximately 130 miles northwest of Wilmington via I-40, providing more comprehensive national connectivity for families from western US and other markets with more direct RDU connections.

No refund at all is given for withdrawing from a Summer Session, a stricter rule than the prorated fall/spring schedule, and dropping individual classes rather than withdrawing entirely gets no tuition adjustment once the add/drop period ends.
